just some thoughts
point 1- sometimes there are people that come into your life that are so amazing and wonderful, and you spend all your time wondering how long its gonna last, so you have a yukky time with them cause you cant get past that fear. well, newsflash for the day (week, month, lifetime...) if you dont get past that fear, then you will never be able to develop that meaningful relationship. Yes, there are idiots out there who will use you, but most people are inherently decent and if you are lucky enough to have found one of em, enjoy them- spoil them- love them with everything you have and allow them the priviledge of doing the same for you. Because honestly, if you have my blog addy, then you are a person who has the right to be a little spoiled and a lot loved. Oh, and by the way, i'm one of those people too- so spoil me spoil me..... (i'll post my wish list for Christmas later on ;P )
point 2- some things in life are in our control, and some are out. Here's a really big clue to break it down- if it is your own thoughts or actions, then it is in your control. The second that someone else is involved, it is no longer in your control. So, realistically, that means that 23.5 hours of your day are most likely not in your control. BUT take advantage of the .5 that is- be as in control as you can without trying to control everyone around you. No one likes a control freak, and no one wants to be bossed around (unless maybe a subbie or slave who really does not want to be their own person- but i wouldnt recommend that either).
point 3- there is a time and place for everything. Most of us operate in the land of instant gratification. We want what we want and we want it now! sigggghhhhhhhh....wouldnt it be nice if it could always be like that? But, since it cant, we need to remember to prioritze, set goals, and take the small steps that will ultimately lead us to the bigger goals. Dieting, exercising, changing ourselves, it all takes time and lots of patience... it's never a wrong time or a bad time to start and try and make changes, so long as your short-term goals are realistic and you dont set yourself up for failure.
point 4- what you wanted yeterday may not be what you want today- that's ok. Change is scary and tough and, quite frankly, none of us realy like it. HOWEVER, change has the potential to be amazingly good- even if it seems to have started out icky in the beginning. Go with the flow- be like a river and just let the current carry you...sometimes you may need to paddle yourself to the side for a quick break, but otherwise, let the river carry you- go with it, and enjoy the ride. There may be some rapids along the way, and you do need to be careful of the big boulders that pop up here and there, but ultimately the river knows where it is heading, and you can trust that it will take you where you need to go.
so, those are some random thoughts from guru randi....i hope you can find something in them to help you through the current of life. and if you dont, well then just be on the lookout for my wish list....
